Rules

Rank-up assignments are for those who want to change ranks. This goes with a couple rules you need to keep in mind.

:pointr: There are no rank-up assignments to gain the leader, deputy, medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice positions. These will be chosen by the team of admins. If you want to become medicine cat, contact us or enter the try-out if there is one.

:pointr: You are limited to making one rank-up assignment a month. This means that if your cat requires three assignments to rank up, you cannot draw them all in the same month and rank up your cat. You can make them all at once and wait out your time if you fear you won't have the time to do assignments in the near future, but please state it clearly to your Clan leader so that they're aware of what you're doing. Similarly, if your character has already been apprentice for five months but you haven't done the assignments yet, you can upload all five at the same time and have your character rank up anyway.

:pointr: Contact your leader if you want to rank up and include links to your assignments in the message. This can be a personal note. No leader wants/has the time to search through people's galleries in a quest for assignments you made, especially if they're hard to find or your gallery has a lot of subfolders.

:pointr: Rank-ups are available from kit to apprentice, from apprentice to warrior and from warrior to elders.

:pointr: If you have your own idea for an assignment that deviates from the listed ones, let your Clan leader know and ask them for written permission. Make sure that you do this so that no issues can occur later on.

:pointr: If your character ranks up from apprentice to warrior or perhaps from warrior to elder, you can either come up with your own name or have your leader suggest/pick one. Whichever you prefer.

:pointr: A rank-up assignment can replace your monthly assignment. This means that if your character is an apprentice, for example, you can do a rank-up assignment and you'll be excused from doing your monthly assignment. You can still do both, if you like, but nobody's going to make you.

Kit to apprentice

:pointr: Draw your character interacting with their mother/caretaker or otherwise portray how they feel about being in this Clan.

:pointr: Draw your character practicing battle moves or playing with their littermates or the Clan's apprentices.

:pointr: Draw your character's apprentice ceremony. This assignment has to be the last you make, otherwise it wouldn't make sense, obviously. Make sure to contact your leader as soon as possible after uploading this one.

Apprentice to warrior

:pointr: Draw your character exploring the territory for the first time, or discovering a part they didn't know about yet, if you decided not to do this one soon after you ranked up.

:pointr: Draw your character caring for the Clan, for instance by taking care of the elders or collecting moss for bedding.

:pointr: Draw your character training with their mentor. This can be hunting, fighting or lessons in understanding the way of the Clans, such as mentors teaching their apprentices how to behave on border patrols.

:pointr: Draw your character's final warrior assessment. You have the freedom to be a bit creative with what their assignment is, but be realistic. If you're not sure, contact your leader.

:pointr: Draw your character's warrior ceremony. Make sure to contact your leader asap after posting this and make sure you've decided on your character's warrior name.

Warrior to elder

:pointr: Draw the scene that made your character decide to join the elders. This can be either an injury, them deciding they're getting too old to do their warrior duties properly, or something else entirely. If you've decided your character moves to the elder's den, you should've contacted your leader already and gone over the reasons with them.

:pointr: Draw the ceremony. The elder ceremony usually isn't very elaborate. Make sure to include whether your character has taken on a different name as an elder.
